People often ask me where this passion for nature comes from. That’s a difficult question to answer, but I would say it’s always been with me. The photography came naturally afterwards. In a world where speed takes precedence over reflection and emotions, wildlife photography slowly brings us back to the basics. You have to know how to take the time, slow down, look at the world around you. Waiting for your photograph is not inactivity, on the contrary. It is learning to observe better and to understand better. It is essential to live our own emotions before passing them on to others. Indeed, photography is also sharing, because «happiness is real only when it is shared». In return, very often, the people I introduce them to bring me just as much. I am pleased to be able to share this passion with you in Montier-en-der. Some of you may look at nature differently, taking the time to observe and appreciate it! Nature has a lot to teach us and it is a treat to become aware of it.

The hummingbird is only a few centimetres tall and has extraordinary abilities. It’s hard to imagine with such a small size how it could have been preserved. It is precisely this evolution that has made it so efficient, adapting very precisely to its diet and its environment. Its size and vivacity do the rest and allow it to not have a direct predator. When I went to Latin America for the first time, it quickly became an obsession. Surprisingly, it is not only its extraordinary characteristics that seduced me first but all its unique beauty, the poetry that it emanates, the diversity of plumage, beak, look... In short, I love everything about this bird. What I love more than anything is to create an atmosphere around this fantastic bird, as if time could stop and the scenery could be unreal. For all these reasons, I can observe them without ever getting tired of it. Especially since they are many! About 340 species live on the new continent, about as many as all the birds of France. However, despite their extraordinary adaptation, these birds are not well known by some people, in danger of extinction for others and unfortunately already disappeared before being discovered for the last. It is essential to realize that, despite their diversity and their abundance in their environment, these species are fragile and must be protected. For all these reasons and as a photographer and ornithologist, I would like to contribute to their protection and make them more visible to the general public through my exhibition.
