Professional naturalist photographer for 30 years, Joël Brunet is always looking for creativity and originality, his photos are a quest for beautiful light and perfect framing. Passionate and naturalist first and foremost, he tries to show nature in its most artistic aspects in order to sensitize the public to its necessary preservation.

Exposition

The call of the wild is something in me, for a very long time ; I breathe and I think nature. Like a magnet, it attracts me and as time passes and the more I get out from the human's world. This need to live intense moments, I only find it  into the wild world. I am suffering when I think about what nature must endure and these moments of immersion are a real therapy and control my pain. We live in a changing world, where unfortunately after the humans attitudes and their irrepressible need for territorial and economic conquests, the landscape is changing. Corn and other cereals have replaced these wild worlds. As far as one can see, hectares of land are spreading, sterilized by decades of treatments, poisoning, ploughing and draining, where wildlife has almost disappeared, except for some robust species with smaller numbers so that they are destinated to disappear. The destruction of old trees, orchards, wetlands, meadows leads to the extinction of many living beings and I observe every year, like many people (specialists or not), the alarming decrease of birds, and climate changes, which will undoubtedly have an impact on wildlife and which we are not yet measuring. The conditions of cohabitation between humans and animals are no longer met and some «hobbies» as well as the progress of modern agriculture with its «perverse» effects on our ecosystem show that this necessary cohabitation is being greatly reduced. Many wild animals are over unearthed, trapped, poached.  We are many in France to fight against these practices from a previous time and our photos are useful for this fight for life. I like my local nature, our nature, the one that is on the doorstep, CLOSE to our villages. This collection of photos and this exhibition will certainly not have a major impact on the survival of the wild world, but if this testimony serves to awaken consciences, to show the «beautiful wild» and to save, somewhere in a corner of France, a fox, a frog, my personal quest will be accomplished …
