It all began in the summer of 2012, when a colony of whiskered terns had taken up residence on a small pond with plentiful of water lilies called “Solognot” 3 hectares long. unfortunately, I arrived too late and many young birds were already flying. I had to start by the end of the story with the idea of coming back before them in the spring of the following year. But, for several years, the weather conditions were not unsuitable to meet this specie, the heavy rains of the winter and the spring did not allow to regulate the water level of the pond, leading to cover the area of water lilies.

One year I believed it as some birds had begun to settle, some had been laid and brooded when incessant showers covered the plants and drowned the spawning. It was only in 2017 that I could return very early to the pond and I could have the chance to follow this wonderful little bird at all stages, its arrival, the beginning of their installation, the material inputs, the offerings, the matings, the laying and births and loud and fast scenes of feeding. This is what I want to present to the public with about twenty photographs taken in different atmospheres and lights.
