The authors are Joan de la Malla and Adrià López-Baucells. Joan de la Malla is a biologist and a freelance photographer specializing in conservation, nature and the environment. Adrià López-Baucells is a biologist specialized in bats. From the beggining, his professional career as a researcher is a work completed with scientific communication through photographic reporting. This photographic project aims to illustrate the relationship between human and bats in Madagascar and even if it 's little known, how important this relationship is. She wants to emphasize the importance of the conservation of bats by its own value as a species but also the importance in the preservation of the ecosystems of the island. On the one hand, the frugivores are the main responsible for the reforestation of this island, and on the other hand, the insectivores do an important job of controlling parasitic diseases. This control has contributed to a better crop yield which improve the feeding of the impoverished population and avoid deforestation for the creation of new crops.
