  Photographs

Coming from Sologne and passionate about nature since childhood, we began observing birds, mammals, and insects at an early age. Emmanuelle turned to photography, following roe deer and deer, while Frédéric discovered his passion through watching deers. We aim to capture unique atmospheres and animal behaviors, always respecting the peace and quiet of the wildlife we encounter in the Sologne region. Using fixed or floating blinds, we remain invisible. We have published Reflets de cerfs (2016), Bécassines des marais – Escale en Sologne (2019), and Garenne & Goupil (2024).

Exposition

In 2020, we decided to focus our attention on the European rabbit.
Tracking down this small animal proved challenging, as we quickly realized it was quietly disappearing, largely unnoticed—even by much of the rural world, including the Centre region where we do most of our photography.
There are many reasons for the decline of this rabbit: disease, changes in agricultural practices, hunting, expanding road networks, and more.
After several months of searching, we were fortunate to find a small, isolated spot in the Boischaut. For four consecutive years, from spring to autumn, we dedicated every weekend to observing and understanding the social structure of a rabbit warren.
The photographs in this exhibition are taken from our book Garenne & Goupil.
