When I started wildlife photography in 2005, it immediately became obvious: I had found my place! It is in the heart of wild nature that I need to live. As much a photographer as a naturalist, I have chosen to devote my activity to highlighting Nature, around my home in the Jura mountains. This proximity allows me to follow my subjects on a daily basis and thus try to decipher their behavior and their way of life. Very sensitive to the aesthetics of an image, I look for the most beautiful atmospheres and lights conducive to escape. I like an image to allow the imagination to express itself fully, when the viewer plunges into the heart of the image.
Exposition
For these pictures called “silhouette”, I worked on the artistic side of photography, as opposed to more naturalistic work. I therefore favored backlight which outlines the silhouette of the subject, looking for the shapes and details of animals with a well-defined profile, such as the chamois, the ibex or the fox. I also looked for mist atmospheres that highlight the silhouette of the trees. I also worked on blurring to evoke rather than show, and to give free rein to the imagination.
If these pictures evokes drawing or painting more than photography,then my bet is successful. Unable to make such images with a pencil, I try to “draw” with my camera.
