Photographs
I had a traumatic experience a few years ago, when a fox I was observing was shot dead a few dozen meters from me. Since then, I’ve lived under stress for them, for myself and for the people who come with me! I have witnessed too many despicable and gratuitous acts against foxes and other badgers, feral cats etc. That’s why it’s always been a matter of great importance for me to use my images to help protect them. The aim of this exhibition, in partnership with Aspas and the Centre Athenas, is to help these two associations, to show the beauty of the fox, but also to explain its usefulness in nature and to try to stop calling it a ‘nuisance’.
Exposition
As a professional photographer, Joël is very involved in the preservation and protection of natural environments and biodiversity and is particularly active in campaigning against the destruction of foxes and badgers. He exhibits his work in France and abroad, and donates his images to associations for the protection of nature and wildlife. He gives lectures to the general public and schoolchildren, and also works with farmers in his region to encourage them to take an interest in the small animals of our countryside and in preserving their biotope. Joël’s connection with nature is visceral. He doesn’t go out into the wild, he’s part of it, and it’s through a very personal and artistic eye that he shows this beautiful, natural world….
