Photographs
I have always been passionate about cinema and images. My job as a VFX data wrangler allows me to explore the craft of the Image and different shooting techniques such as photogrammetry or 360° photography on large cinema productions. I later realized on a trip to Iceland, a country so different from my native Lorraine region that I cannot dissociate travel and photographic creation. There is a need to bring back something artistic from my explorations. Photography and cinematographic creation are the same to me it is all about telling stories from my heart. But it is also a more solitary and intimate form of creation where I can be with myself and with the natural world.
Exposition
This project begins in Paris, with a growing need to discover the world and create something artistic and useful. In Wellington I joined as a volunteer ranger for the Department of Conservation (DOC) on Matiu/Somes island. This allowed me to learn a lot about the country’s endemic species, almost all of which are present on the island. However to observe the nestor notabilis, the only alpine parrot in the world, I had to travel to the South Island’s alps. I discovered there at an altitude of 2000 meters a very curious bird. I have
quickly swapped my telephoto lens for a wider lens that would allow me to photograph these very inquisitive and smart birds. The kea is an endangered national treasure that the DOC is trying to save.
