In Normandy, the marais du Cotentin et du Bessin stand out as one of the largest wetlands in France: 30,000 hectares of marshes, recognized internationally for their fauna and flora. The ornithological richness of the Regional Natural Park is due to its diversity of natural environments (marshes, bocage, coastline…) as well as its location on a major axis of migration. Many species of birds inhabit the marshes as the seasons change. In autumn and winter, northern migrants settle or stop over. In the spring and summer, migratory birds are observed on return and installation of breeders. Sometimes, The Ruff, the wood or green sandpiper will cross there White stork, a moticilla flava flavissima, a sedge warbler, a garganey, or a bluethroat…
