Arnaud GUERIN - Compère du Festival
France
Parrains - Invités,Photographs
Scientist, professional photographer, author and guide of theme tours and travels, Arnaud Guérin has, always had, a passion for the earth and nature. If speech and writing are two ways of expressing this, it is with his photographs that he takes the public into a scientific voyage and captures their attention. From his first journey to Iceland, he was touched with a devouring passion for sea birds and since then has captured the lives of these birds on the coast and on the high seas, from the shores of the Channel Islands, Scotland, Iceland or the Faroe Islands, to the Galapagos Islands, New Zealand or even Spitzbergen. It is these photos, a history of our oceans, that Arnaud presents in this exhibition.
Exposition
Albatross, puffins, shearwaters, terns, skuas, gannets, guillemots, gulls, seagulls, penguins, pelicans, fulmars, noddies or frigates… all of these birds live in equilibrium in the extreme environment of our oceans.
It is the stories of these exceptional birds that Arnaud GUERIN, scientific and photographer, went in search of amongst the extreme conditions of the oceans of our planet, from Spitzbergen to New Zealand, from the Galapagos Islands to Iceland and the Faroe Islands. Far beyond the emotion they convey, the photographs of these birds also reveal to us the rich diversity our planet and the dangers to which it is exposed today. This is a profound and scientific photographic journey in large format.
