Aude NOWAK
France
Photographs
A traveler, adventurer, and dreamer, Aude began night photography back in the film era. She drifted away from it for a while but returned to it with the rise of digital technology and a change in her life’s path. After living and traveling across four continents, she settled in Haute-Savoie. The mountains inspire her, the nights there are spectacular, and the technology now allows for images that were once only possible for NASA.
Her photographic work quickly reflects her adventurous and dreamy spirit. She explores landscapes that are especially hard to reach, whether in the mountains or hostile territories. Through her images, she brings back a glimpse of places few will ever see and also shares a sense of wonder in a world that can sometimes be harsh.
Exposition
The result of astrophotography work carried out between 2020 and 2023 at high altitudes, in cold and snowy conditions, this exhibition offers you a dreamlike journey through the wild nocturnal landscapes of our planet. It aims to showcase scenes not easily accessible to everyone.
The night skies of both hemispheres are featured: the Northern Hemisphere, with the Alps (France, Switzerland, Italy), and the Southern Hemisphere, with Chile. In the mountains, access is on foot, carrying 18 kilograms of gear. In hostile territories, reaching the locations requires hundreds of kilometers by car. Food, water, and fuel supplies must be carefully planned.
Beyond the technical aspects of astrophotography, I invite you to experience the emotion in each image, the stars, and the magic of the Universe.
