  Photographs

Fascinated by wildlife and ethology, the beauty, richness and complexity of the animal world have never ceased to surprise and enchant me.  On the other hand, visual images have always been particularly fascinating for me, and photography as well as drawing have been among my favorite activities since I was young. It seemed logical to combine these passions with wildlife photography. For more than ten years, I have been able to be as close as possible to wildlife. Mindful of the need for respect and discretion, it is a privilege to witness so many small scenes of animal life, and to try to highlight my subjects. Through my photographs, I give visibility to the animal species that are so important to me. My goal is to help them to be better known, and in that way to better protect them. My approach can be summed up in three words: Admire, Understand, Respect.

Exposition

African wild dogs, endemic to sub-Saharan Africa, are little known or worse unloved. Yet they are remarkable animals with unique social behavior. The cohesion of the pack is such that no one is left out. I had the opportunity to photograph, a pack composed of 7 adults and 7 puppies of 5 weeks old around their den. As the days passed, I observed the behaviors and characters of each, the first steps of the puppies out of the den, the departures to hunt and the returns, the attentive care of each adult for the puppies, so many precious moments illustrated in this series of photographs. On the IUCN red list, the collapse of the African wild dog population is due to human activities. Knowing them better will enable us to appreciate this extraordinary species and to better protect these amazing animals.
