On clear nights, he sleeps beneath the stars. Tucked into his sleeping bag, waiting for sleep to come, he tries to detect invisible presences in the dim light.
Suddenly, a creature appears—a furtive silhouette in the night. His calling comes down to this: capturing the ephemeral, recounting beauty, and inspiring the desire to preserve it.
Exposition
The sun slips behind the mountain. A sudden chill fills the air; a thrush sings in the distance. I shoulder my pack and vanish into the forest. Shadows envelop me, and the bustle of the world fades in my wake. Here, I become a beast among beasts once more.
