A wildlife photographer, biologist by training, and professional diver, Laurent BALLESTA has nurtured his three passions since childhood, fins on his feet and mask in place. Very early on, his attention turned to the most inaccessible depths and to rare or elusive creatures, always with the determination to bring back proof in images. For more than thirty years, his dreams of exploration have often led him to develop new diving techniques and to create images at the crossroads of art and science. He has been honored four times with the title of Wildlife Photographer of the Year, awarded by the Natural History Museum in London, including twice with its highest distinction.

Exposition

— Imagine: a sheer wall of ancient corals, plunging into darkness. The rock looks bare, but it’s only an illusion. This twilight is dazzling with life.
— Are all these creatures rare?
— No, what’s rare is going to see them. Our time will be short. We’ll have to keep our eyes wide open.
— How far will we go?
— Just before the light fades away. To where the most beautiful mysteries hide. They’re waiting for us, far from the sky…
