Born in 1973, author photographer, I live in Cévennes, in France. Oscillating between the infinitely small (macrophotography) and the infinitely large (nightscapes), I find the same emotions, which I try to transcribe. These hours spent contemplating the stars, dreaming in the moonlight, following a butterfly, breathing a flower, admiring the light through the trees, are a real vital need. This is an indispensable step in understanding that we are only a tiny part of a larger and so fragile whole where everything is linked. I regularly exhibit in many Nature Festivals in France and Europe and four books taking up my work have since appeared, as well as several articles in specialized journals Nature. Driven by the desire to raise public awareness of the protection of Nature, which requires another look at it, every year, I organize some macro photo courses and night landscapes and I also give conferences, especially on the night.

This exhibition is an ode to the night. It is important to be able to observe the starry sky, for better understand our place in the Universe. Darkness is a vital need for all living beings, including fauna and flora. This balance is weakened by light pollution. Fortunately, solutions are being put in place so that the starry sky can continue to be admired by future generations. The photos from the exhibition are taken from my book "Il était une fois la nuit", published in autumn 2021 by La Salamandre. They address the different facets of the night: the stars, the darkness, the wildlife, wonder... These photos were made using techniques totally different, always at the shooting, without retouching, experimenting on the long poses and light, but never in the same way.
