GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2019

Dans la plupart des pays européens, il existe une association de photographie de la nature et de la vie sauvage. En Allemagne, l’asbl GDT (Gesellschaft Deutscher Tierfotografen e.V), existe depuis 1971. En tant qu’association leader en matière de photographie nature, nous bénéficions d’un réseau international important, partageant, depuis près de 50 ans, connaissance et expérience dans le domaine de la photo nature authentique, esthétique et documentaire et ainsi que dans le domaine de la conservation de la nature.

Le GDT sollicite et soutient les photographies de nature qui valorisent sur un même pied d’égalité, l’authenticité, la conservation active et les qualités artistiques. Ce n’est en aucune manière une contradiction mais bien une triade fertile recherchée par les membres du GDT dans leurs images, dans leur recherche de qualité et dans leur ambition d’apprendre pour s’améliorer, en tant que photographe mais également défenseur de la nature.

Le GDT compte 15 groupes régionaux en Allemagne, un en Suisse, ainsi qu’un groupe spécialement dédié aux jeunes photographes. Chaque automne, le GDT organise un festival international de photographie nature animé de conférences et projections de photographes du monde entier, d’expositions, de séminaires ainsi que d’ateliers sur les tendances actuelles de la photographie nature.

Trimestriellement, le GDT publie également son magazine de haute qualité, le « Forum naturfotografie » imprimé par les éditions Tecklenborg. Le GDT organise deux concours annuels qui remportent un grand enthousiasme : le concours réservé aux membres du GDT, le « GDT Nature Photographer of the Year » et le « European Wildlife Photographer of the Year » accessible à tous les photographes amateurs et professionnels résidant en Europe. La Marraine du concours européen est le Prof. Dr. Beate Jessel, Présidente de l’Agence Fédérale pour le Conservation de la Nature. En collaboration avec les éditions Tecklenborg, le GDT décerne également le « Prix Fritz Pölking », qui récompense annuellement un travail exceptionnel dans le domaine de la photographie de la vie sauvage.

En dehors des membres privés d’Allemagne, d’Europe ou d’outremer, les buts et actions du GDT sont soutenus par de nombreux sponsors ou mécènes, tels que de grandes marques de matériel photo ou de matériel dédié à la photographie nature, des maisons d’éditions et des agences d’images. The GDT There is a society or association for wildlife and nature photography in almost every European country. In Germany, this has been the non-profit Society of German Nature Photographers - GDT (Gesellschaft Deutscher Tierfotografen e.V.) since 1971. As Europe's leading association for nature photography, we benefit from a strong international network and pooling of knowledge and experience for almost 50 years in the fields of authentic, aesthetic and documentary nature photography and nature conservation alike. The GDT demands and supports nature photography that embraces authenticity, true conservation and artistic quality to the same degree. This is by no means a contradiction but a fertile triad as the GDT's members show in their photographs and in their striving for quality, joint learning and the ambition to improve as a photographer as well as a conservationist. The members of the GDT are organised in 15 regional groups in Germany, one in Switzerland and a group of young photographers. Every autumn the GDT hosts an international nature photography festival with lectures and slide shows by photographers from all over the world, exhibitions, seminars and workshops on current topics of nature photography. On a quarterly basis, the GDT also publishes the high-quality magazine Forum Naturfotografie printed by Tecklenborg publishing house. In addition, the GDT provides two annual competitions that are met with great enthusiasm: the member's competition "GDT Nature Photographers of the Year" as well as the open competition European Wildlife photographer of the Year open to all professional and non professional photographers resident in Europe. The patron for the European competition is Prof. Dr. Beate Jessel, President of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation. Together with the Tecklenborg publishing house the GDT hosts also the international Fritz Pölking Prize, wich is awarded yearly for extraordinary work in the field of wildlife photography. Besides private members from Germany, Europe and overseas, the GDT's aims and general work is backed by numerous supporters from the photography circuit, such as well-known camera manufacturers and special suppliers of nature photography, publishing houses and agencies.
