For the past forty years, the Association Wildlife Photographers of Brittany has been working to share nature’s beauty through photography.Through various exhibitions and publications, these photographers strive to share both their creations and their passion. The ethics guiding the practices of the association have remained the same since its inception. Nowadays, technology has gotten more advanced, ecosystems have changed, and nature has been put in jeopardy At the same time, the number of wildlife photographers has kept growing, all the more reason to remain vigilant and to strive ) for a relationship with wild animals based on respect. The satisfaction one can experience when taking the perfect picture of wild birds, mammals, reptiles and other insects can never justify putting them in danger.

Entre ajonc et goëmon, Sensibilités sur la Bretagne sauvage, is APAB’s newest exhibition. Matching Britanny’s five departments , the five petals of the gorse are emblematic of our region and the plant is part of its natural heritage. Gorse grows on moors and in groves, and, with it heart of gold and sharp thorns, it is as Brittany’s inhabitants themselves, stubborn yet very sensitive. Piles of red and brown algae and kelp can often be spotted on the coast: the sight of them is enough to give an idea of the variety and richness of what lies under the sea and on the foreshore. Called goémon, they have been an integral part of local culture for centuries.This exhibition, along with its associated book, aim to be a defense of the wildlife of Armorique. The bestiary presented to you has long been present in people’s imagination through Brittany’s various languages.
