I was born in a relatively unspoilt part of Haute-Savoie, which my parents taught me to love and respect.
Even as a very young child, I could sit still for ages watching the little creatures in the garden, and I soon asked for a camera to photograph them. I got my first compact camera when I was seven, before borrowing my parents’ old SLR and eventually getting my own kit. Since then, I’ve spent as much time as possible in the mountains admiring the landscapes and wildlife, never tiring of it. Even though I often visit the same places, I never come back with the same memories, because the encounters, the light or the season change everything. And I don’t need to go far from home to experience wonderful emotions.
Exposition
Whilst the ibex, the emblem of the Alps, is the animal I photograph most often, every encounter with any other species is always a magical moment.
From the delicate butterfly to the golden eagle, via the marmot and the chamois, the Alpine wildlife is incredibly diverse, and I am presenting only a tiny fraction of it here. The light, so beautiful in the mountains, is an essential component of my photos, and certain colours capture the moments I am lucky enough to experience in this natural world I love so much better than others: the white of the snow, the black of the sharp shadows, and the orange of dawn or dusk.
Every image you see represents a wonderful memory for me, and I hope that as you look at them, you will feel a small part of the emotions I experienced whilst taking them.
