Photographs
I was born in Auvergne in 1969. After studying dental surgery, I moved to the Jura region, where I discovered photography. Self-taught and then attending the local photography club, I learned and experimented with just about every aspect of photography, with a predilection for macro photography, flowers, and insects, but also an attraction to abstract and experimental photography.
Unemployed and stuck at home due to Covid, I looked at the eyepieces of my son’s microscope and started taking pictures with them. A little disappointed by “classic” subjects, I added polarizing filters to the microscope, and everything changed. I had chosen crystals as my subject, and the colors and shapes that appeared immediately amazed me.
Exposition
All Life stems from these few molecules…
Some have even been found in meteorites.
The 20 amino acids that make up proteins crystallize and form abstract, colorful figures, which are revealed under polarized light and magnified by the microscope lens. These photographs are an invitation to contemplation, a support for imagination and reverie.
