Guillaume BILY - Compère du Festival
France
Parrains - Invités,Photographs
Professional photographer, Guillaume BILY quickly traveled to the countries of northern Europe, for his work, combining landscape and wildlife photography. Long passionate about the sea and marine avifauna, seabirds have become a central subject of his work. While trying to capture the fragility of these species, he also focuses on the movement, textures and lights of the sea, in order to capture much more abstract and meditative images. His photographs, which can be found in his various publications and books, have won awards (BBC Wildlife Photographer of the year, GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the year, Montier-en-Der, Festival de l’oiseau,…) and exhibited across Europe.
Exposition
For more than ten years, I have continued to work on this series of images, focusing on the movement, textures and lights of the sea but above all, more particularly on seabirds. My observations made me feel the fragility of these species and by photographing them confronted with the violence of the ocean, I tried to highlight this fusion which links them to the sea, but also and above all, this fragility. However, they play a key role, in the ocean ecosystem, and various studies have shown that their decline is linked to the general poor health of our oceans. This new exhibition will coincide with the release of my new book, which will bring together all of my work, on the theme of the sea and seabirds.
