  Photographs

Through their images, Véronique and Patrice share their passion for the fascinating, fragile, and untamed world of African wildlife—a world they see as powerful, mysterious but so beautiful.

For more than 25 years, Africa has been at the heart of their work. There, they have experienced the deep emotions inspired by this extraordinary continent, where the ancient connection between humans and animals can still be felt.

Committed to wildlife conservation and the protection of biodiversity, they support NGOs working on the ground. They have also collaborated with and signed the charter of IFAW.

Through their photographs and stories, they aim to raise awareness of the vulnerability of ecosystems and the growing threat facing many species at risk of disappearing forever.

Exposition

Often called the “Bleeding-Heart Monkey” because of the red patch on its chest, the gelada, or gelada baboon, is the only species of its kind.

It lives only in the Simien Mountains of northern Ethiopia, where its habitat is becoming smaller due to growing human pressure.

Patrice and Véronique chose to create intimate portraits of these remarkable primates, focusing on their expressions, their eyes, and the emotions they inspire. They were fascinated by their complex and little-known social lives.

After many days spent observing them, they witnessed some extraordinary moments: strong bonds between females, the kidnapping of newborns, and a wide variety of calls, facial expressions, and gestures that play an important role in their communication.
