Exposition
This exhibition is the culmination of a long-term project on small mountain owls in their natural habitat.
These owls and their prey (mountain forest songbirds) have been regularly observed and photographed over the past five years near my home in the Southern Alps.
This year, I wanted to create a narrative, a work of art that goes beyond mere images, to immerse the viewer in the world I encounter almost daily in the high-altitude forests.
For over six years, I have been taking people into the mountains to try to understand, listen to, and observe these birds—so discreet, so elusive, and so unpredictable. It requires a great deal of patience, a great deal of listening, and few images on each outing, but it brings immense pleasure to be among these invisible creatures.
