Lionel FAVRE

Photographs
Living to the rhythm of the seasons in the Valais Alps, in Switzerland, Lionel FAVRE, passionate about nature, lives to share the beauties of our regions, through photography and guided walks, as a mountain guide. Photography turned into a real passion, around the age of 15, when he went along on hunting with his father. The binoculars around his neck and the camera in the bag, he’s living, since, to the rhythm of nature. Passion and curiosity for the great outdoors has only grown ever.
The Alps oblige, he particularly likes the alpine fauna and the cold. The fragile balance of the alpine ecosystem, the loss of frimas and mass tourism in the mountains, push him to the conservation of these habitats.
Exposition
Galliformes from the Alps; balls of feathers that have managed to cross the cooler ages, adapting to their environment.
So specialized and yet so vulnerable!
In total admiration of their adaptability, Lionel blended into their environment. The observation of their behavior and habits, are the key to a successful training. A great deal of patience and perseverance to freeze, for a moment, the elegance of chickens. It is always with renewed pleasure and sparks in the eyes, that we go into the blind, to discover the hidden life of nature. A flutter of wings of the ghost of the woods, a chuckle of the western capercaillie or a peck by the black grouse, sweep at once, the long hours of waiting in an icy cold.
