My first job was forestry, then working in biology in a chemical ecology laboratory. I am from the Swiss Jura and I live in the canton of Neuchâtel. I practice animal photography since my youngest age, and it has always been an excuse for me to discover nature. Today I am a professional naturalist and photographer and it has become a way of life. My latest project, presented here “Heritage”, is halfway between classic animal photography and a more conceptual artistic approach. Over the past ten years, I have mainly spent my time searching for Eurasian lynx in my native Jura. This quest also allowed me to produce two books: “Lynx, a shadow in light” and “Crépuscules”. The lynx has become my favorite subject, but this passion for large predators and my fascination for tracking them has also led me to other wild and vast territories.

Exposition

Through my photographs, you will discover the parallel between a shepherd and what happens beyond his fences, out of sight, in the depths of the forest, and sometimes even, just at the edge, border of these two shared worlds. Just as he watches his animals, the others observe him from the darkness of the tall trees. In an essentially artistic approach, I wish to express in this project my vision of nature, of our life and of our place in this turning point which radically and unhealthily dissociates humanity from nature of which it is nevertheless an integral part.
