We live in Douai, a small town in the Hauts de France region. Since 1982 we have regularly travelled to photograph African wildlife in the nature parks and reserves of Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and Zambia. The Maasai Mara in Kenya remains our favourite destination. Our latest exhibition, “Les lions du marais”, has been shown at a number of festivals: Montier en Der (in 2019 at Droyes and in 2021 on the Objectif Nature stand at Giffaumont) – Namur – Phot’Aubrac – Bachy – Lestrem – Arras – Lomme – Linselles – Sin le Noble – Lambres – Mer. At the first light of dawn or at dusk, an extraordinary spectacle unfolds in the skies over Kenya’s Maasai Mara. The shimmering hues of dawn and dusk set the horizon ablaze, creating a breathtaking spectacle. The bodies, sublimated by the play of light and shadow, are transformed into elegant silhouettes. In these magical moments, the contours of the giraffes are outlined with finesse, the elephants take shape with power, and the predators reveal their agility and elegance. Each moment is ephemeral, and each variation in light offers a new tableau to contemplate. This show is a reminder of the fragility of nature and the need to preserve this magic for future generations.
