I’m 65, I’ve been retired for five years. After a few beginnings in adolescence I went back to wildlife photography with the advent of digital and a less intense professional life. I have been devoting myself to my passion for about 15 years. The Seine that crosses my village, the surrounding countryside and a few forest ponds are enough for my happiness. The nearby nature offers a diverse nature. As soon as the entrance of my village is crossed, I have the feeling to breathe better, I feel a certain fullness, a simple happiness. Over the years, the photos are accumulating, I didn’t succeed in creating a site dedicated to my leisure, I am a little frustrated not to share my photos. This year-end exhibition will be an opportunity for me to fill this gap and will bring me some pride.

Exposition

The grey heron immediately attracted me, it is still present on the forest ponds where I go. It is a very beautiful bird with harmonious colors, all in “shades of grey”. It is fierce, approaching it is a challenge. The floating blind quickly became an evidence to photograph it. Permanently installed it blends into the environment, but it takes time, many and slow movements to approach the most fearful individuals. What a chance to meet them and follow them along the riverbanks. Imagine a water surface in the middle of the woods, the sun rises and comes to light the fog banks, the heron flies away, flirts with the water, pushes a “krèik”. Its wingbeats are slow, autofocus will be effective. I savor this moment. Happiness is in the pond.
