Photographs
Amateur photographer, born in Normandy in 1958. I have always been attracted to Nature and animals. The passion for photography seduced me from a very young age with the desire to bring back photos of my animal observations. I bought my first camera when I came back from the army in 1979, a Pentax K1000 and a 300 mm Tamron lens. Then I joined a photo club and learned the portrait in the studio but especially lighting and flash management. I practice the blind, the approach or the billebaude with the same passion. For 5 years, I have been using photographic trapping, a technique that I think I can master and that I can debate with the public with pleasure. As a child, I made (non-destructive) traps to catch rodents and observe them. As today, I was often empty but what joy when the trap worked, when finally there is an exploitable photo!!! Wildlife photography is for me an incessant quest, allowing me to mingle with the wild nature, wait, listen, feel. On the lookout, expectations are long, often uncomfortable, but what a pleasure to be able to trigger in a beautiful and soft morning light. My images are a way to share these privileged moments, to make this world known to our children, to whom we owe the legacy of this earth. I hope that everyone will become aware of the importance of this beautiful and fragile Nature, and also of the biodiversity that makes it up, as an integral part of the chain, of our chain. The harmful impact of humans on these environments, such as deforestation or pollution, inflicts irreversible injury on them
Exposition
What happens when I’m sleeping? We all like to know what happens at night. With this exhibition, I reveal to you the night activity of your garden or around you. When I was a kid, my dream was to be able to hold all the animals in my arms, and I was so frustrated that I couldn’t pet them, that I made up some kind of trap, which wasn’t a trap at all, and from failure to failure, because an animal has never been caught… In any case, I felt like a great trapper, a kid’s game! I spent my time in nature watching them. Today, I’m looking for, I’m observing, I’m following their fingerprints, I listen to the sounds of nature that tell us the presence of such species, I set photo traps. Then I sharpen, with my camera only when it is possible, because I do not like to disturb animals besides we do not realize beautiful images on disturbed animals. And if I have the slightest doubt, it’s the photo traps that will do the job, without me. For the first time, I wanted to share the result of my traps with the public, which I embellished with some photos, made by telephoto, but also the technique, I am sure to meet some enthusiasts who will love to know some tips. I think you will love, you who like me, love nature, photography, and wildlife.
