Photographs
I first discovered Africa in 1988 in Cameroon. The colors, the smells all was so new, the revelation was immediate, the instant fascination. The following year, it was my first encounter with wildlife in Kenya, and my first photos … A little later my encounter with mountain gorillas in Rwanda was a new shock. The piercing gaze of these fragile colossi is deeply moving. 30 years later, I am still fascinated by the infinite spaces, the wealth of wildlife, the sometimes harsh travel conditions and the local cultures of Africa. However, in the last few years I have set out to discover other cooler places : Svalbard, Norway, Finland, Falkland, Japan in winter and Iceland are also wonderful playgrounds.
Exposition
A volcanic land, Iceland is the perfect mix of water and fire. Flowing down from glaciers and volcanoes, the water of glaciers passes through lava fields and fills with minerals before reaching the black sand beaches that line the ocean. It then spreads by drawing abstract and unreal watercolours that can only be seen from the sky. Nature reminds us that it can sometimes be inspired by Kandinsky and Hokusai…
