Photographs
Originally from Metz, I grew up in a little corner of nature on the Lorraine agricultural plateau. At the age of 20, during my first stakeout for badgers with my brother, a passion for wildlife developed and has never left me. Since then, I have lost count of the hours spent stalking and the nights spent observing and listening to the living world. My job as an ecologist and more recently, as an author photographer, allows me to keep one foot almost constantly in fields that I am passionate about, such as the protection and contemplation of nature. In my photographic practice, I mainly seek soft compositions, backlighting, and very twilight atmospheres.
Exposition
All of these photos were taken in a place called the “Pays des Étangs,” which is a natural region in Lorraine with lots of ponds. These ponds were made by abbeys during the Middle Ages for fish farming, which turned out to be a great habitat for birds. The region is located in a perfect spot for migratory birds to take a break during their journey between northern Europe and the Iberian Peninsula. The photo exhibition shows many different types of pond birds and the peaceful times of dawn and dusk.
