Matching Britanny\u2019s five departments , the five petals of the gorse are emblematic of our region and the plant is part of its natural heritage. Gorse grows on moors and in groves, and, with it heart of gold and sharp thorns, it is as Brittany\u2019s inhabitants themselves, stubborn yet very sensitive. Piles of red and brown algae and kelp can often be spotted on the coast: the sight of them is enough to give an idea of the variety and richness of what lies under the sea and on the foreshore. Called go\u00e9mon, they have been an integral part of local culture for centuries.This exhibition, along with its associated book, aim to be a defense of the wildlife of Armorique.
