The photographs were taken by two photographers who have traveled to Borneo and Sumatra several times, where they live, and have gotten to know them intimately:
Angela POGIONNI, Italian-American wildlife photographer, winner of numerous awards at international festivals.
Patrick KIENTZ, French wildlife photographer, lecturer, and author of numerous awards in France and abroad.
Exposition
Orangutan, the gentle red giant of the forest
Orangutans living in Borneo and Sumatra live in primary and secondary forests, mainly in lowland areas. They prefer river valley forests or flooded plains.
Remarkably intelligent, peaceful, and observant of their environment, the orangutan is even said by indigenous people to not speak because it is too wise for that.
Severely threatened by habitat destruction for human activities, orangutan species are classified as critically endangered.
