  Photographs

Driven by a dual passion for entomology and photography, I’ve been photographing insects for over 20 years. I prefer to take my photos in nature, looking for the best light and scene conditions. I like to work with a wide aperture, while integrating the subject into its environment. I go out into the field very early, before sunrise, so that I’m ready at just the right moment. It’s a calming and rejuvenating experience that I really enjoy, even if it takes a lot of outings before I get the right shot.

Exposition

Butterflies are one of my favourite subjects. I like to magnify them in the morning or evening light. The black-veined (Aporia crataegi) has a special place among butterflies, because its white wings with black veins are very aesthetic, especially when the subject is lit against the light. In this exhibition, I wanted to showcase this simple butterfly, which can be transformed into a living stained-glass window in the right light.
